I spent the morning playing hopskotch with Fergus Finlay from Barnardos in a playground in The Coombe! St Brigid’s School .

Londis are sponsoring a book called Write Up Your Street – all the profits go to Barnardos – and children write stories about their local area and enter the competition. The winners will be in the book. And I get to judge the winning stories – fun! Can’t wait to read them.

Yet another fun ‘writing’ day. Lovely school – very bright classrooms and great play areas. Teachers were lovely too – any child would be luck to go there.

Writing is a great way for kids to express themselves – I hope they have fun with the competition! Details should be up on the Londis website soon – end of April I think – look out for them if you have a young writer in the family.
